About The Massage London
The Massage London started in 2015 as a website connecting people in London with independent massage therapists. Since then, the London massage scene has changed a lot. More therapists than ever work for themselves, often alone, juggling treatments with bookings, marketing, room hire, insurance and licensing.
So we have rebuilt The Massage London as something those therapists told us they were missing: a place to talk to each other.
What the community is for
The Massage London is a forum for massage and bodywork therapists who live or work in London, and for students training to join them. It is a place to:
- ask the questions you cannot ask a client, such as how to price a 90-minute session, how to handle a difficult booking, or which insurance actually covers mobile work
- find and share treatment rooms, clinic space and job opportunities
- compare courses, CPD and techniques with people who have done them
- understand licensing rules, which differ from borough to borough
- meet other therapists in your part of London
Who can join
Membership is free and open to anyone aged 18 or over who is a qualified massage or bodywork therapist, a student on a recognised course, or someone working in the industry, such as a clinic or spa owner, trainer or supplier. Everyone agrees to our community guidelines when they join.
What we stand for
Massage is a skilled, professional health and wellbeing service. The Massage London is strictly non-sexual, and we remove anything that suggests otherwise. Our moderators check new members’ first few posts so that the forum stays useful, respectful and safe for everyone in it.
Massage guides
Alongside the forum, we publish plain-English guides to different massage treatments. They are written to be accurate rather than to sell, so you can share them with clients.
Looking for a therapist?
The Massage London is a community, not a booking service. If you are looking for a massage, see our guide on how to choose a therapist.
